コンパクトなサイズと使い勝手の良さが魅力</h4>
ジャストサイズの中に、ユニークな使い勝手とスタイリッシュさを詰め込んだトヨタの新提案ミニバンが、このアイシスだ。エアロパーツ装着グレードのプラタナは、全幅が1710mmのため3ナンバーとなるが、それ以外のグレードはすべて5ナンバーサイズ。全高はFFであれば1640mmと、地下駐車場でも大抵の場所なら利用できる実用的サイズとなっている。

最大の特徴は、左リアに採用されたパノラマオープンドア。前席ドアと後席ドアの間にボディを支えるBピラーがなく、前後ドアを開けると、広大な開口部を利用できる。レジャーシーンはもちろん、介護福祉などにも利用価値は大きい。
<br />
シート配列は3列で、2列目がベンチシートとなる7人乗り。サードシートはラゲージの床下に格納でき、格納時のラゲージは、高さを除けばボックス系ミニバン並みに広い。多目的に使える独創的な一台である。

1.8Lと2L、2種類のガソリンエンジンを搭載</h4>
搭載エンジンは、ガソリンの直4 DOHCが2機種。1.8Lの1ZZ-FEと2Lの2AZ-FSEで、主力エンジンは後者となる。
<br />
1.8Lはロングストローク設定で、吸気側のバルブタイミングを可変制御するVVT-iを装備。低速トルクが豊かで、実用性は水準レベル以上だ。2Lは燃料供給が直噴式。1.8L同様にVVT-iを装備し、低燃費と高出力を両立している。10・15モード燃費は最高14.4km/L（ 2L FFのGとL＆1.8L車）と、最新モデルにも見劣りしない。

トランスミッションは1.8L車が4AT、2L車がCVTで、HDDナビ装着車はナビ協調制御付き。2Lのプラタナには7速手動変速モードが装備される。

基本フォルムもシンプルな直線を起用しており、機能性の高さをさりげなく主張。エアロパーツを装着するプラタナは、フロントバンパーからフェンダーにかけてのボリュームが、標準グレードよりもワイドとなる。

助手席は、背もたれを前に倒した後、座面ごと前に持ち上がるタンブル格納が可能。パノラマオープンドアと合わせて利用すると、左側後席への乗降性は類を見ないほど向上。

1.4tを超える車重に1.8Lもしくは2Lエンジンを搭載するため、動力性能は同クラスの平均レベル。とはいえ、1.8Lでもタウンユースで不満を覚えることはない。2LはCVTの制御も
的確で、十分な力強さを見せる。

重心が高くないため、ロール方向の動きはボックス系ミニバンよりはるかに穏やか。峠道でもストレスなく走れる。

ホイールベースが長いことから直進性が良く、乗り心地も落ち着きがあるもの。CVT車はエンジン回転数を低く保ってくれるため、車内はとても静かだ。ロングドライブで真価を発揮する車といえるだろう。

探しやすいのは、流通量が最も豊富なH17年式。他年式ではあまり見かけないGも流通するほどなので、上級装備を狙う人もまずはココをチェックしよう。また、価格帯が幅広いのも特徴。運が良ければ120万円台の物件も見つかるので、予算を抑えたい人にもオススメだ。グレード別では、断然プラタナが探しやすい。特に2Lモデルは全年式で豊富なため、気に入った物件に巡り合う確率も高いだろう。

シートやラゲージなど内装の傷みをチェック!</h6>
リコール情報で特に台数が多いのは、ストップランプの不具合。これは、スイッチの接点不良によるもので、点灯しなくなるケースもあるという。対象となるのはH16年9月からH18年9月に生産された車両の一部なので、該当する場合は整備手帳で対策が行われているかどうかを確認してみよう。このほか、車の性質上、シートの動作やラゲージスペースのキズなどもチェックしておきたいところ。</div>
